Maryland Heights Hike

April 29, 2007

Yesterday, I went on hike with some friends to Maryland Heights, which overlooks Harper's Ferry, WV and the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. The hiking trail is not too technically challenging, but it is very steep. However, the views from the top make it worth every step.

Ruins from the stone fort walls remain near the summit of Maryland Heights.

The Potomac flows past Braddock, MD in the distance.

Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. The Shenandoah River is the river on the top, and the Potomac is the river on the bottom.

Harper's Ferry looks like a miniature toy town.

Small lizards were enjoying the afternoon sun on the rocks.
